New Samus Voice Actress, Multiple Support Devs Revealed in Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Credits

Metroid Prime 4: Beyond reviews have officially hit the internet, offering a largely positive picture of the long-awaited sequel. But that’s not the only big headline hitting news sites today. Thanks to outlets who have received review copies before release, we now know some of the names listed in the game’s credits. Among those credited are Samus’s brand-new voice actress and a who’s who of development studios that supported Retro during Beyond’s production.

According to the game’s credits, as reported by Nintendo Life, actress Erin Yvette provides the voice of Bounty Hunter Samus Aran in Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, with motion capture performed by Krystle Martin. Yvette boasts an impressive resume, having done voice work in Hades II, The Wolf Among Us, Fortnite, Dispatch, and Oxenfree, just to name a few. Martin meanwhile is a prolific stunt performer whose game experience includes work on the Call of Duty and Battlefield series. Previous Metroid Prime titles featured Jennifer Hale as the voice of Samus.

Additionally, longtime Metroid Prime Producer Kensuke Tanabe has returned to provide the text for Beyond’s scan logs. And, as confirmed by reviewers, legendary Metroid composers Kenji Yamamoto and Minako Hamano have both returned to do the music.

The credits also interestingly reveal a long list of support studios who lent their talents to Metroid Prime 4: Beyond’s development, including Metroid Prime: Federation Force developers Next Level Games. Next Level employees named include Matt McTavish, Cavin Yen, Mark Blanchin, and Christopher Rice.
