Continuing the tradition of the Metroid series, Super Metroid has three endings that the player can achieve. These endings are based on time completion only. There is a “standard, better, and best” ending that you can achieve depending on your play-time.
The Standard Ending, showing Samus fully equipped in her Gravity Suit, unlocked if a player finishes Super Metroid with a time of 10 hours or more:
The Better Ending, showing Samus equipped in her Gravity Suit, albeit with her helmet off, unlocked if a player finishes Super Metroid with a time of 3 to 10 hours:
The Best Ending, showing Samus in a jumpsuit, unlocked if a player finishes Super Metroid with a time of less than 3 hours:
