AM2R
Another Metroid 2 Remake, or AM2R for short, is a fan developed 2016 game made by Milton “DoctorM64” Guasti, with support from various other artists. AM2R is a modernized remake of Metroid II: Return of Samus, built with Super Metroid/Zero Mission’s engine and featuring multiple new areas, new and returning bosses, an original soundtrack, a map system, updated controls, and much more. AM2R has often been hailed as the greatest fan-made game ever made, and in many ways, is equal or superior to many official Metroid titles.
AM2R was available as a free download on PC or mobile, though the game was ordered to cease development from Nintendo. Although not officially available for download, a quick Google search should lead players to the game soon enough.
