Blink and You’ll Miss It – There’s a Small Metroid Easter Egg in the Super Mario Galaxy Movie (**Spoilers**)

The Super Mario Galaxy movie, the highly anticipated sequel to the Super Mario Bros. Movie, released earlier this month, and like its predecessor, there are Easter Eggs galore. Everything from characters to weapons, signs to musical cues, offer something for the curious Nintendo fan watching. With so much to see in this bombastic sequel, even the most eagles eyed viewer may have missed one appearance that will make any Metroid fan happy. You’ll have to be quick to catch it, but there is something to look out for should any of you go see the Super Mario Galaxy movie.

In the movie, Samus’s Gunship can be spotted in the background for about one second, give or take. Once Peach and Toad reach the top of the Gateway Galaxy, Samus’s Gunship can be seen taking off, with two other brief appearances in the background that you may need to squint in order to catch.
