Welcome back to The Great Metroid Area Ranking, the Hunter-Tier Patreon exclusive show where I, Andy Spiteri, will be ranking every single area in the Metroid series! This month, I’m joined by the one and only Doominal Crossing to discuss a couple of fun midcard areas. Starting off, we’re covering the frigid Sector 5 (ARC) from Metroid Fusion, home to both the gravity-defying Nightmare and your first encounter with the SA-X. Next, we shift gears and focus on the military installation from Metroid Prime Hunters, the Vesper Defence Outpost, where Samus and Sylux throw down for the first time. Lastly, we end things by looking at Samus Returns’ version of Area 2, it’s showdown with our favorite jobber Arachnus, the introduction of Gamma Metroids, and the watery aesthetic!
