New NES Metroid Desktop Metal Display Available Through Nintendo’s Online Store for NSO Members
Attention Hunters! Nintendo recently announced a cool metal desktop display of the cover art of Metroid on the NES. If you’re big into collecting or just have a love for all things Metroid as we do here, then now’s the time to check it out! You can check it out here, but heads up – there are a couple caveats; first, you’ll need to be a Nintendo Switch Online member; second, the displays are only available while supplies last; and finally, these metal displays can only be purchased with Nintendo Platinum Points, 1000 of them to be exact.
If you don’t have enough Platinum Points, you can check here for Nintendo’s current missions that let you earn them through various mobile games and account linking shenanigans. As for the specs of the display itself:
The displays dimensions are as follows:
Panel: 5 in x 7.125 in
Thickness: 1 mm
Base: 5 in x 1.2 in x 0.8 in
It also comes with a protective film for both sides that is removable.
Do you plan on picking one up to add to your personal collection? Do you have your own sick Metroid collection that you want to show off? Comment below or tell us all about it on our Discord!

Hey I’m Kendall or Metroda. I first saw Samus on Smash 64 but never played any Metroid until getting Fusion & Echoes 20 years ago and it’s been my favorite series ever since. I also love Zelda, Elder Scrolls, Civilization, and most 2D platformers. When I’m not hanging with my kids or gaming I also love basketball, reading, and I will talk your ear off about biology, astronomy, archaeology, or history.
