Multiple International Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Commercials Debut Online
Warning: This article contains minor spoilers for Metroid Prime 4: Beyond.
We had a bit of a deluge of Metroid Prime 4: Beyond ads show up online right as we reached the two-week countdown mark until release. Nintendo of Korea, Nintendo of Japan, and Nintendo UK all posted new Metroid Prime 4: Beyond commercials/TV spots to their respective social media accounts that showcase some never-before-seen footage.
Nintendo of Korea
These two ads are voiced in English with Korean subtitles, possibly indicating these were/are intended for Western audiences at some point. They may only be 30 seconds, but there are still some interesting tidbits to gather from them.
The first commercial gives us a nice new cinematic look at the snow-capped area Ice Belt as Samus is presumably first entering it. We also get a look at Samus scanning a “Jungle Griever” on the long bridge Myles Mackenzie will be escorted over. Later, we see Samus fighting a flying ship that somewhat resembles a Ghost from the Halo series. The ad ends with the fire-breathing boss Phenoros facing off with our heroine.
The second ad contains slightly more juicy details, such as a split-second view from behind Sylux as he descends ready to face Samus. The biggest confirmation found is two-fold: Samus is seen utilizing her “psychic grapple” the traditional way — swinging across grapple points as in the previous Prime games. While she does this, a timer is ticking down at the bottom of the screen indicating at least one of Metroid’s famous escape sequences has likely returned as well.
Both ads also confirm the names of two of Samus’ elemental secondary weapons: the Ice Shot in the first ad and the Fire Shot in the second.
Nintendo of Japan
The two ads posted by Nintendo of Japan appear on their website, in addition to their YouTube channel.
The first is an entirely cinematic/cutscene-filled ad that gives us our best look yet at the Galactic Federation companions Samus will be teaming up with. It also finally shows us more Sylux footage, with him knocking back the troopers with a sort of energy shockwave. This ad seems to be stressing the roles and bonds the GF troopers will have and be building with each other and Samus.
The second ad meanwhile is nearly all gameplay focused, with cuts to someone using the Nintendo Switch 2’s mouse capabilities. There isn’t much new here, just more of a technological showcase.

Lastly, Nintendo UK posted to their X account a short video spotlighting Sylux.
Nothing new is offered, as the video simply presents 14 seconds of the bounty hunter’s introduction during the game’s opening, as seen in April’s Treehouse Live presentation. However, it does hint at the possibility of future character spotlights on Nintendo UK’s X account. We’ll keep you posted!

Hey I’m Kendall or Metroda. I first saw Samus on Smash 64 but never played any Metroid until getting Fusion & Echoes 20 years ago and it’s been my favorite series ever since. I also love Zelda, Elder Scrolls, Civilization, and most 2D platformers. When I’m not hanging with my kids or gaming I also love basketball, reading, and I will talk your ear off about biology, astronomy, archaeology, or history.
