Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Takes Third in the UK Sales Charts
Metroid Prime 4: Beyond debuted at #3 in the UK’s game sales charts, according to market research company GfK. The long-awaited sequel came in behind EA Sports FC 26 and Mario Kart World, which have both dominated the top of the chart three weeks running. The data, which only reflects physical sales, indicated an 83%/17% split between the Switch 2 and Switch versions.
According to Christopher Dring of The Game Business, Metroid Prime 4’s physical sales in the UK are down 15% compared to 2021’s Metroid Dread, while noting that the difference is “relatively marginal” at “just a few thousand units.” Considering that Dread is the best-selling Metroid game ever, I don’t think Prime 4 has too much to worry about there.
