Hollow Knight: Silksong Nominated for Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2025

2025 is wrapping up, and as is custom for the end of the year, The Game Awards, hosted by Geoff Keighley, are coming up. The nominees for the awards have been announced, and the Metroidvania everyone has been talking about, Hollow Knight: Silksong, is in the running for Game of the Year (GOTY).

Here are all six nominees for Game of the Year:

• Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
• Death Stranding 2: On the Beach
• Donkey Kong Bananza
• Hades II
• Hollow Knight: Silksong
• Kingdom Come Deliverance II

Silksong, however, hasn’t just been nominated for GOTY. It’s also received nominations in a few other categories, including:

• Best Score and Music
• Best Art Direction
• Best Independent Game
• Best Action/Adventure

With five nominations, Silksong is the fifth-most-nominated game at the awards show this year, behind Expedition 33 (12 nominations), Death Stranding 2 and Ghosts of Yotei (8 nominations), and Hades II (6 nominations).

The Game Awards 2025 will air on Thursday, December 11th at 7:30 PM ET / 4:30 PM PT
