Hollow Knight: Silksong Gets September 4th Release Date
Today, Team Cherry released a special announcement trailer showing off their highly anticipated sequel to Hollow Knight, Hollow Knight: Silksong. After seven years of waiting, the game finally has a release date of September 4th.
The video began by showing gameplay of Silksong, with a focus on the various new movement mechanics and the concept of “ascending.” The trailer boasted that the game had “over 200 ferocious foes” and “over 40 legendary bosses” while showcasing the game’s fluid combat systems. Various NPCs and the map were shown, and the trailer ended with the release date, September 4th. Amusingly, no release year was given, but based on earlier comments by Team Cherry it is safe to say that 2025 was intended. You can watch this trailer yourself below.
Additionally, Jason Schreier on Bloomberg posted an interview with Team Cherry, discussing why the game took as long to make as it did. In the article, the developers explain that they had so many ideas and kept adding more to the game, and even expressed interest in adding more content to Silksong post-release.
Silksong will be releasing simultaneously on Steam, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox, Playstation 4 and 5, GOG, and Humble Bundle. It will be available day one on Xbox Game Pass. As of the time of writing, no price has been announced.
