Metroid II and Metroid Fusion Are Headed To NSO Alongside Game Boy and Game Boy Advance Games
Nintendo announced in their February 8th Direct that Game Boy and Game Boy Advance games are being added to the Nintendo Switch Online service later today. In the announcement, they revealed that the classic Metroid II: Return of Samus will be available at launch, and in a highlight reel that Metroid Fusion will be added at a later date.
Metroid II is joined by Super Mario Land 2: Six Golden Coins, Tetris, The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening DX, Gargoyle’s Quest, Game & Watch Gallery 3, Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare, Wario Land 3, and Kirby’s Dream Land. Game Boy Online will also come with the option to use original Game Boy, Game Boy Pocket, or Game Boy Color color filters, and you can play with friends locally (with separate Switches) or online. Future games coming to Game Boy Online include the twin Zelda titles The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons and Oracle of Ages, Pokemon TCG, and Kirby Tilt’n’Tumble.
Game Boy Advance Online is only available to Nintendo Switch Online members with the Expansion Pass. Launch titles include The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap, Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3, WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$, Kuru Kuru Kururin, Mario Kart: Super Circuit, and Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga. Like Game Boy Online, Game Boy Advance Online can be played with up to four players locally or online. Future games coming to the service include Metroid Fusion, Kirby & The Amazing Mirror, Fire Emblem, F-Zero: Maximum Velocity, and Golden Sun.
