Metroid Prime Hunters Walkthrough: Missable Scans
Here you’ll find a list of every missable scan in Metroid Prime Hunters. We’ve broken the missable scans down into different categories which you can easily navigate to below, as well as added analysis on when the scans become unavailable.
Bioforms
Electro Voldrum
Location: Incubation Vault 02, Celestial Archives
Omega Analysis: You’ll only have one opportunity to scan these creatures, as they will appear from an enemy spawner.
Greater Ithrak
Location: New Arrival Registration, Celestial Archives; Sanctorus, Arcterra
Omega Analysis: You’ll get two cracks to scan this creature, but after that, it will be gone.
Bosses
Omega Analysis: Being a boss, you are guaranteed to run into these creatures during the course of your adventure, and as you would probably assume, once you defeat these bosses, they’re gone for good. I won’t detail too many of the bosses, but a couple you’ll want to pay attention to are the Slench’s, as each version has two different forms you want to scan – one when the Slench is being held in by its tentacles, and one when when the Slemch is flying around. Speaking of, you’ll want to scan one of the Energy Blasters, or those little canon’s shooting the green energy balls at you. Any Slench fight can get you this scan.
Lastly, you’ll also want to ensure you scan both the Arctic and Fire Spawn mini-bosses, as they are easy to confuse for regular enemies, but only appear once!

Location: Stronghold Void 01, Celestial Archives

Location: Stronghold Void 01, Vesper Defense Outpost

Omega Analysis: You will encounter one of these in ever area. Just be sure to scan one before you have deactivated all the shields!

Location: Every area
Omega Analysis: You will encounter one of these in every area. Just be sure to scan one before you have collected all the Artifacts!
Delano 7
Location: Weapons Complex, Vesper Defense Outpost
Omega Analysis: You will have only one opportunity to scan Sylux’s Gunship; during your initial battle with Sylux; they will call down the Delano to assist in the fight, giving you a chance to grab this scan.
Octolith
Location: Every area
Omega Analysis: There are eight to acquire in the game, and one will appear after each Stronghold Void section, so just scan one before you pick it up.
Shield Key
Location: Every area
Omega Analysis: You will encounter one of these in every area. Just be sure to scan one before you have collected all Shield Keys.
Stronghold Portal
Location: Every area
Omega Analysis: There are only a handful of these portals, so once again, scan one before you enter the Stronghold Void and they are deactivated.
