Several months beyond the release of Metroid Dread, and several years since the game’s initial announcement, Metroid Prime 4 is still a mystery to Metroid fans. Who knows what it will have in store for us? Room 100 Entertainment has joined the speculation, recently releasing a comprehensive video on what the highly-anticipated fourth entry of the Prime series might offer.
Metroid Prime 4 was announced back at E3 2017, when Metroid fans first saw what has now become the iconic “4” surrounded by a swell of cosmic clouds. Due to the title being delayed in January of 2019, no one has any idea what’s going on now that development of the game is in the hands of Retro Studios. What little we know boils down to supposed concept art and recent hires at the studio. What will it be about? Will Retro Studios finally add the Speed Booster to the Prime series? What other new and returning power up could there be?
Laying the foundation for what Metroid Prime 4 could be is a series of mini reviews of every Metroid game played by Room 100 (so no Other M and Federation Force) to see what he felt worked, what didn’t, what can be improved upon, and what should never come back. After covering each title in chronological order and ranking them to Room 100’s preferences, he gets to work fleshing out what he wants to see in Metroid Prime 4.
Sylux will likely be a central figure, since he was teased in both Metroid Prime 3 and Federation Force with some plan in store involving a newly hatched Metroid. What will the specifics of the story be? What new abilities will Samus acquire? When does this hypothetical Metroid Prime 4 even take place?
The answer these questions and so much more can be found in Room 100’s recent video, so be sure to check it out!
