Unlock This Previously Limited Metroid Dread Theme in Tetris 99 on August 10th!
For any of you Metroid fans out there that enjoy a good game of Tetris, you’re in luck! The (surprisingly fantastic) Tetris battle royal game, Tetris 99, is offering players a chance to snag a Metroid Dread theme for their game. This theme had previously been available for a limited amount of time in October of 2021, so for any players that missed it, this is a great chance to snag it before it’s gone again!
Unlocking the theme is fairly straightforward – just play Tetris 99’s Maximus Cup on August 10th (you have 24 hours starting at 12 am PST) and you’ll collect points, which you can use to unlock the sweet Dread theme. In addition to Metroid Dread, themes for other popular Nintendo Switch titles like WarioWare and The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword will be available in the preceding days, so if you missed out on any of those themes, you can make a week of it and collect everything!

The Tetris 99: Maximus Cup Second Chance Edition runs from August 5th to 10th, so make sure you don’t miss out if you want all the great themes! Tetris 99 is a free-to-play game available to Nintendo Switch Online subscribers, taking the battle royal format and twisting it to fit the classic game of Tetris!
