Games Done Quick Announces AGDQ 2024 Lineup Featuring 3 Metroid Titles

On October 20th, Games Done Quick announced that next year’s Awesome Games Done Quick (AGDQ) speedrunning charity event will be live January 14th-21st, 2024 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to benefit the Prevent Cancer Foundation.

Games Done Quick posted next year’s schedule and games lineup on Twitter, confirming over 100 new events taking place throughout the week, including 3 Metroid speedruns:

• Super Metroid (SNES) – Any% TAS (Tool Assisted Speedrun) programmed by Sniq.

• Metroid Prime 2: Echoes (GameCube) – 100% run played by MrMiguel.

• Metroid Dread (Switch) – 100% NMG (No Major Glitches) race between JustNZane and CScottyW.

Games Done Quick is still accepting new submissions for AGDQ 2024, however these are limited to titles released after August 1st, 2023. Unfortunately, that means we won’t expect to see any additional Metroid events added in the future.
