Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Gets a New Trailer; Psychic Abilities Revealed, Though No Release Date Given
It took a long time, but we finally have our next look at Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, and this time, we got a bit of a more detailed look into some of the new gameplay mechanics. The trailer started off by introducing us to the planet Viewros, a planet Samus was “unexpectedly transported to”, before giving us our first look at some of the alien creatures living on the planet. Probably most interestingly, however, is the reveal of Samus’s physic abilities, which are bestowed to her by a as-of-now alien race, allowing the Bounty Hunter to move objects and control her beams direction with her mind.
The trailer concludes with a few quick shots, including one of a Metroid, what looks very similar to a destroyed Federation Force mech, and a new boss named Carvex, before going to the title screen, where no firm release date was given yet beyond 2025. Never one to not make a stylish exit, however, the trailers last shot focuses on Samus’s new suit, an absolutely gorgeous looking crimson and ash grey look, detailed with purple energy lines.
While no news of Switch 2 cross-release was shown today, which we expected, and no Sylux in this trailer, we’re certainly left with more questions than answers, but I for one can’t wait for us to get really cooking in the leadup to Beyond! Check out the trailer for yourself here:
