Metroid Fusion

Metroid Fusion is the fourth entry in the mainline series and see’s Samus confront her deadliest foe yet: the X, a parasite capable of draining the life from its prey and mimicking it. Released on the Game Boy Advance in 2002, Metroid Fusion introduces the iconic Fusion Suit, X parasites, and more, while being the first new 2D game since Super Metroid 8 years prior.

Though Metroid Fusion is available on the Wii U Virtual Console, other ways to play this game are limited. Rumors have persisted for years about a potential remake (Mercury Steam, the developers of Samus Returns and Metroid Dread, originally pitched a Metroid Fusion remake before working on any other Metroid game) but as of this writing, nothing is official. Metroid Fusion joined the roster of Game Boy Advance games on Nintendo Switch Online in March 2023.
